So I'm moving...

Hello everybody!

This is just a quick note to tell you that Fairly Fantastic can now be found on WordPress and I will no longer be posting on this area on Blogger.

I am making move because Blogger just isn't giving me what I want for my blog and I believe that I can improve Fairly Fantastic greatly by switching to WordPress!

You can find the new site here - http://fairlyfantastic.wordpress.com/

Also, you will still be able to follow me on Bloglovin, the link is on the new page at the bottom and also on my account on Bloglovin!

My content will not be changing, just the appearance, please let me know what you think!

Well you're a bit dissapointing...

Hello everybody!

So today I'm going to talk to you about some of the products that simply haven't hit the mark for me, those items that after first use are pushed into the depths of my makeup/hair care collection, only seen again in posts like these. Now just because I don't like them does not mean that they won' work for you, however for me they just don't work.

Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo

I actually threw this away after first use, because I simply hated it. For me it didn't increase the amount of volume in my hair at all, but instead made my hair feel tacky and disgusting, greasier than before I applied, and a nightmare to style I was very upset to dislike it so much because I love the other Batiste offerings, I have a bit of a thing for the Cool and Crisp variety. But to my despair, this one definitely did not hit the mark. I can't even think of anything positive to say about it.

V05 Give me Texture Style Spray

This was underwhelming because I found it just didn't do a lot for me. Yes, my curls did stay in longer when used but for texture, I can't say that it did a lot for me at all,*shrugs*.

17 Blemish Balm

Okay, so on the packaging this product is described as 'light'. Light. Really? For me this is way too dark for my skin, I know I should have tested it but I bought it last year when I didn't know much about how important it is to match your base to your skin tone. In fact I have discovered after a little research that 17 only offer this in two shades. Yes, that's right, two. Come on 17, bring out some more shades and I might be tempted to give it a go. Two shades, disgraceful!

No7 Stay Perfect Smoothing Eyeshadow in 'Iridescent Purple'

I should have been more careful before buying this product and read all the appalling reviews on the Boots website. I bought this after falling in love with the sparkly purple in the tube, seeing a gap in my collection. In reality this is a pretty boring sludgy colour with a glimpse of shimmer (it is the bottom swatch above), and it doesn't complement me at all. It is very runny, however I find it clumps up on the doe foot applicator and can become difficult to blend. Other than that I love it!

Collection Deluxe Lipstick in 'Tallulah'

Don't get me wrong I love the colour, pigmentation and finish of this lipstick (the top swatch). It just doesn't last. It is such a shame, this could be my favourite lipstick other than the fact it slides off after 5 minutes. Why Collection, why?

No7 High Shine Lip Gloss

I have a couple of these which I really don't know what to do with. The colours are okay but very sheer, the shade in the middle is called 'Whisper'. They last okay but do require topping up and taste a little strange. However like many lip glosses, this has fallen into the trap of being way too sticky, so much so that I don't like wearing them, definitely not worth £9.

So, these are the products, I don't get along with, what are your disappointing products?

Love,

Bethany

The Most Astonishing Hand Cream Ever?

Hello everybody!

That is what Soap and Glory asks us when we take a glance at the beautiful pink packaging of their 'Hand Food', a cream which claims to be non-greasy  while softening, smoothing and soothing hands. Big statement.

Well, I must admit it is a very good hand cream, it smells gorgeous with that typical Soap and Glory sweet scent that we have all come to love, plus it is non-greasy and sinks into my skin in seconds, leaving me with silky soft hands. Also, the travel size is perfect to carry in your handbag whether for school or for work, I know this product will be an absolute essential in winter when my hands tend to dry up horrendously!

I am yet to find a product that I do not like from this brand ( by the way Essie Button has a fantastic video on the brand's history and her favourite products which is definitely work a look, link here), and this is no exception. Whether it is astonishing, I am not so sure but I seriously recommend  you checking it out so you can decide for yourself if this is the most astonishing hand cream ever.

Buy the full size for £5 at Boots here

Why did I start blogging?

Hello everybody!

A week on since my first blog post, I have been considering the benefits of blogging and how happy I am that I finally made the jump! Having my own area on the internet is fantastic, here I can ramble on about anything I want, and spend 10 minutes pouring out my heart to you all! So if you are considering setting up a blog, I would only recommend it, I honestly have no regrets!

The fact that I have some followers is hugely exciting and if you are reading this or following me on Bloglovin, THANK YOU! I would have been happy with a single follower, so to have a few is very exciting, I am simply overwhelmed! It means so much that people are actually reading what I write, I know, everybody says that, but I genuinely mean it!

So what can you continue to expect? I really just want to have a mix of all the things I love, beauty, fashion, lifestyle and a little photography thrown in. Please leave me comments of any posts you would like to see, I would love to hear from you.

Apologies if you found today's post a little rambling, I just really wanted to say THANK YOU and express how happy I am that I joined the blogging community!

Love,

Bethany

The Summer TAG

Hello everybody!

When browsing through my Bloglovin feed, I noticed that Makeup Savvy had posted 'The Summer TAG'. Firstly, I love summer and secondly, I love a TAG, so I thought that this would be the perfect post to share with you today. You can check out Makeup Savvy's post here, but this is my interpretation.

What is your favourite thing about summer?

For me, the best thing is simply having an opportunity to relax, whether I am on holiday in the sun or at home (where hopefully it isn't raining!), summer is my time to really consider what is important!

Do you have a favourite summer drink?

For me, in summer an ice cold glass of coke is simply the best, especially when relaxing in my garden on a warm summer day (ahhhh)

Is there a location you like to go to in summer?

In summer my garden is my haven.

Favourite Summer Makeup Look?

At the moment, my go to makeup is a BB cream, teamed with a nude pink blush, a pop of bright eyeshadow (I'm loving blending an ice blue into my crease) and a nude lip. In summer I like to have a lighter makeup with a little pop of colour!

Dresses or skirts?

Dresses, dresses and more dresses! However that being said I am looking for a summery skirt, recommendations welcome!

Sandals or ballet pumps?

Absolutely sandals, I think they complement any look, a brown pair are so versatile. Personally, I get more use out of my ballet pumps in winter, teamed with my favourite H&M black jeggings.

Hair up or down in summer?

To be honest, most days I wear my hair down in summer, I'm too lazy to do anything else with it!

Deep Smokey Eyes or Bold Lips?

In summer, it has to be a bold lip for me, I love the No7 High Shine Lip Crayons, for a buildable coverage, 'Tickle' is the perfect summer coral. Oh and by the way, you get a free gift if you buy two No7 products at the moment, which is definitely worth it, you get a fantastic box filled with treats! I'm not affiliated with No7, I just love their stuff!

Favourite perfume for summer?

I adore Vera Wang Preppy Princess, it is such a fresh, floral, summery scent!

Favourite Summer Music?

At the moment, I have a strange obsession with Cheryl Cole's new song 'Crazy Stupid Love', its just so addictive! Also I am counting down to Ed Sheeran's new album 'X' as I have been for many months and I love anything my John Legend!

So that's the end of my version of this TAG. I would love to see your answers!

Love,
Bethany

A Little Photography Snippet.

Hello everybody!

For today's post, I thought that I would focus on my photography, in fact I am considering sharing some of my photos with you on a weekly basis, please let me know if you would be interested.

My passion for photography began at an early age when I received my first camera when I was around eight. I remember running around at my birthday party, taking about a million photos of my friends. Over the years it has developed into more serious hobby, and with the help of my dad, I think I have improved. Now, my Fujifilm camera accompanies me everywhere! Here is a couple of what I believe, are my best photographs.

                                                                         The Cows

Personally, this is my favourite. It was one of those spur of the moment photographs, that I took without really concentrating and yet it turned out quite good. I love the way that they are looking right at the camera and the contrast between them and the grass background.

A Surprise Encounter

As you can see, there is a bit of a theme here, I love animal photography! I was really not expecting to see the seals when walking to the beach in Norfolk, but there were hundreds! It was a special moment and this photo means I will never forget it!

Anyway, that's the end of my snippet for today! I am aware that all art is personal but please let me know what you think, feedback is well appreciated! Also, I would love to know if you would like to see another post like this, just leave a comment!

Love,

Bethany

The All Timers....Makeup!

Hello everybody!

If you read my blog yesterday, you will know that I am currently writing about my all time favourite products, and today's focus is makeup! I would like to continue this series further next week, please let me know if you would like to see more, fashion, photography and lifestyle for example. Anyway, here are the products that are never not in my makeup bag!

Real Techniques Core Collection

Oh I love these brushes! Since receiving these at Christmas time, the applying of my face makeup has been so much easier and quicker, instead of the smearing foundation over my face with my old battered pointed foundation brush. Particular loves of mine are the buffing brush, a blogger favourite, which helps give me a natural, perfectly blended finish and the contour brush which helps apply blush to the apples of the cheeks great, even the worst blush in my collection looks good with this. Plus the synthetic bristles means washing is an easy, quick process.

No7 Essentially Natural Foundation in Calico

This was my first even foundation, and it is a huge staple in my makeup bag! Being young, I don't like to feel like my face is caked in foundation while still having a good coverage to even out my skin and tackle any redness. Teamed with the buffing brush, this smooths into my skin effortlessly, perfecting while still allowing my skin to shine through. Also, with the No7 Match Made Service, you can find your perfect shade for free, instead of standing in Boots for half an hour, desperately attempting to find your true match. Plus. with a £3 off makeup voucher, you can get this for less than £7!

17 Wild Metallic Eye Base

17, why did you discontinue these beauties! I have instead linked what I believe to be the closest dupe of these, the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. These bases add a perfect base of colour and can be worn simply on their own or can be used beneath shadows to help them last longer. They don't crease and after a year of wearing it continuously I still have three quarters of the pot. *cries my eyes out at the thought of these gone*

Maybelline the Falsies Mascara

This mascara is a huge blogger/youtuber favourite and I can definitely see why. Personally I love lashes with volume and this mascara definitely gives me that, along with a little length. It can be worn to give natural, fluttery lashes for during the daytime but can be built up to give lengthy, volumnised lashes, ideal for an evening look . Oh and the brush is perfect for coating all the lashes. How did I cope before I bought this?

No7 High Shine Lip Crayon

I already own 3 of these and I am now lusting over their latest release 'Tropical Beach'. Currently in my collection are 'Daydreamer' ,a beautiful nude which I wear at least 3 times a week, 'Tickle', a perfect orange coral for summer and 'Delicate Pink' which is exactly what it says on the time. All 3 shades give a natural sheer coverage but can also be built up for a more intense look. They are incredibly moisturising and have fairly good staying power, though I do have to top up during the day. Plus with a £3 off voucher, they are £6!

So I hope you enjoyed this look into my makeup bag, by the way I am in no way affiliated with No7, I just really like their products, What are your all time favourite makeup items?

Love,

Bethany

The All timers...Body and Skincare.

Hello everybody!

I thought that I would have a series of posts on my blog about some of my favourite beauty products, in order for you to get to know me better. But these aren't just any favourites, these are my all time favourites! In this series, I will tell you about the products that are never not found in my collection.  I was thinking about doing a similar series  to this for fashion and photography, please leave a comment if you would be interested! Anyway, lets get started with todays feature- Body and Skincare!

Vaseline
This product is a classic. There is a reason that a pot of Vaseline can be found in most women's collections, its simply the best, while also being ridiculously cheap to buy. Moisturising without being sticky, I personally use the original version every night in order to wake up with soft supple lips, but with countless flavours, you are sure to find one to suit you.

The Body Shop Body Butter
I'm heartbroken to see that the Body Shop have discontinued my beloved Vanilla Bliss body butter (it smells incredible!) so I have instead linked my second favourite, the Japanese Cherry Blossom, another lovely scent. Admittedly these do take a while to sink into my skin, but once they have, my legs feel soft, lasting for a good while as well. Plus the Body Shop often reduce these from £13.00 to a fiver, so they are definitely worth a look!

No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream for Oily Skin
You will soon learn that I have a bit of a thing for No7, especially skincare. Yes their products are slightly pricey for high-street, but I believe that it is worth it. I used to really struggle with my skin, until I discovered the No7 Beautiful Skin range. Along with their foaming cleanser, this turned my skin around, I cannot recommend it more. It has a light consistency, so perfect for those with an oilier skin but it still manages to keep me moisturised through a long day. Plus with the £5 off vouchers, you can find this for below £10!

So that's it for todays all timers, please let me know if you enjoyed this, and what are your all time favourite products?

Love,
Bethany

A bit of a haul...

Hello everybody!

On Sunday morning, I had the pleasure of going shopping with my mum. I love shopping and I picked up a couple of beauty bits and a great pair of summer shorts which I thought I would share with you today.

Dorothy Perkins Indigo Denim Shorts

It is very rare for me to enter Dorothy Perkins and even rarer for me to make a purchase, however I really liked the fit of these shorts and at £15, they are great value.  Now summer is around, it is time for me to have my incredibly pale legs on show, and I am certain that I will have lots of wear out of these. I think that these will look great with a nice t-shirt, kimono thrown over the top and a pair of convere for a relaxed summer look.

Soap and Glory Hand Food

Ever since I tried their Thick and Fast Mascara , I've had a bit of a thing for Soap and Glory, and I've been lusting over this cream for some time. However now my old hand cream has finally ran out, I thought that I would try the travel size of this, which at £2.50 is a steal! (by the way, expect a review later in the week!)

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I know, I know this product is raved about by every single blogger, youtuber, and woman in the UK but ITS THE BEST!  Perfect both beneath the eyes and on horrible blemishes this little gem is a must in every girl's makeup bag, and I am now on my third tube! Creamy, easy to apply and it doesn't crease... HOW IS THIS STUFF LESS THAN £5????

Marks and Spencer Essential Extracts Cocoa Butter and Vanilla Foam Bath

Wow, that's a mouthful! I am a big lover of M&S body care at the moment, and this stuff is lovely in a nice hot bath at the end of the day (ahhhh!). If you like the smell of vanilla and a foamy bath then this definitely for you, but they do also offer a cream variation and lots of other lovely flavours. But guess what. Its a pound. Perfect!

So guys, that's the end of my little haul for today. Thank you for reading and please leave comments, feedback or ideas for posts. I would love some feedback. As you might have seen from my last post, I am now on Bloglovin, so please follow me on there!

Love,

Well hey there!

Hello everybody!

Firstly, welcome! I am overwhelmingly excited to bring you the first post from Fairly Fantastic. I cannot simply wait to share with you a little bundle of beauty, photography and fashion and I really hope you enjoy it!

I have been thinking about setting up a blog for a long time, but have put it off... until now! It never really seemed the right time, or I was unsure of what to write about, but now I am have decided to take the jump and my head is FULL of ideas! Whether Fairly Fantastic has one reader or a hundred, I am committed to share with you what I am loving, while giving little snippets of what is going on in my life.

So what can you expect? Beauty reviews, outfit of the days, or even a film of the week! I really want to make this blog unique and creative while simply being myself as well.

So, a little about me... Well I am a British teenager who as you have probably guessed has a bit of a thing for photography. But I am also an avid reader and I love a good movie ( one of my favourites is the Hunger Games, or anything with Jennifer Lawrence really!), but of course I do love my beauty! I am not really a high-end kind of girl though, instead I prefer high-street makeup ( or drugstore if you are American!)

So if you are reading this, well thank you! It really does mean a lot to me and I hope you will share this little journey of mine with me. Please leave feedback, I would love to hear what you have to say and any advice would be appreciated, as I am new to blogging!

Love,

Bethany
